Mamie Laverock is embarking on a long road to recovery.
The family of the When Calls The Heart actress shared a health update a little over a week after the star fell off a five-story balcony at a Vancouver hospital.
"Mamie is ‘doing well' comparatively to when she arrived," her family wrote on their GoFundMe page this week. "She has undergone two 11-hour surgeries with two doctors working on her, a three hour surgery and another surgery today. Doing well because she has survived these extensive surgeries."
And the Hallmark actress' inner circle, which includes mother Nicole Rockmann, stepfather Rob Compton and dad John Laverock, emphasized the extent of her injuries. They also expressed gratitude to the 19-year-old's care team at the trauma receiving center to which she was transferred to after her fall.
"Her body has been shattered," their statement continued. "She is enduring tremendous pain and continues to not give up. We can only hold onto the miracles of each day and continue to thank everyone for their prayers and marvel at the miracles of her story. We have nothing but gratitude for the doctors and nurses who have been exemplary in her care since May 26."
Last week, Mamie's mother explained that her daughter's fall, which occurred amid a hospital stay for another unspecified medical need, was not "intended."
"This is an absolute miracle and there will be accountability," her mother told the Los Angeles Times. "We have a case. All we care about is that Mamie can make a recovery and that she's alive and that she's fighting and that she's strong. It's unbelievable that she's with us."
In the family's latest statement, they also noted their daughter's will to live. As they put it, "Our daughter loves her life and loves her family and is fighting hard everyday."
